Digital agency wanted to deploy a programmatic outstream player via DFP

The problem:

A digital agency was leveraging a programmatic player to publish native and paid content for in-banner and outstream video on multiple site properties. The agency knew DFP was going to be the primary ad server in use, and the solution would need to withstand a variety of publisher-side DFP implementations across devices and platforms. Without a universal and dynamic template, the agency would be unable to scale their solution to meet their client’s demands.

The solution:

OAO Ad Products created custom DFP creative templates for distribution to publishers by the agency. Built on top of cross-browser, friendly javascript techniques and the player’s proprietary javascript API, the templates were able to be deployed on nearly every publisher's site, without any development work required by the publishers themselves.

Large sports league wanted to run interstitials natively through DFP across its vast network of properties without any additional on-site development.

The league wanted to expand out their interstitial ad product offering to their advertisers, but didn’t want to be reliant on any more 3rd party software offerings outside of DFP.

The problem:

Every team’s site and network property is developed differently by different tech teams. Historically, 3rd party applications and tools had been leveraged to deploy interstitials. However, this was impractical for a large scale implementation because every site needed custom code, and 3rd parties added additional fees to ad serving costs.

The solution:

OAO built a universal self-contained, templated interstitial solution that works across platforms and devices without depending on 3rd party applications. This solution decreased the cost of ad serving and empowered the league and its teams to include templated interstitial offerings as part of its sales package. This approach not only resulted in better ad products, but also yielded a reduction in ad serving costs by removing the need for additional 3rd party services.

Home entertainment provider needed to expand their digital ad sales revenue via DFP into new display technologies.

The Problem:

DFP and Google currently do not provide development support for Apple TV, Windows 10, and browser-based Applications. Given these platforms do not support HTML or JavaScript, serving ads in these types of applications can be difficult if not seemingly impossible.

The Solution:

OAO Developed a DFP creative template that allows for optimal compatibility across systems and applications, allowing the publisher to serve hundreds of millions of impressions through a custom mobile/tablet application.

A publisher needed QA assistance with their sitewide GPT retag effort, as well as for a newly implemented video ad unit.

The Problem:

New ad creative formats and tracking technologies can sometimes be tricky to work with and can also be difficult to confirm whether or not they are working properly on a publisher’s site and video players, especially with regards to reporting and billing. Some vendors even require that their creative formats and technologies be certified before a publisher can use them for campaigns. All of this can lead to a time consuming process that requires individuals to have an eye for detail and years of experience working with different technologies and platforms in order to ensure a successful implementation and certification process.

The Solution:

Our team has developed a process that emphasizes an efficient testing procedure that ensures any new ad technology is tested and approved by both the publisher and the vendor. This also allows our team to follow each vendor’s own process, while keeping to IAB standards for creative functionality and industry-accepted reporting metric discrepancy standards across different ad server and ad tracking platforms. The process provides thorough testing on a publisher’s site and across all other desired platforms, video players, and environments. Our documentation provides clear and concise details and feedback to both the publisher and vendor to correct any issues and to ensure that the ad technology is working as expected.

A large publisher needed custom creative formats and templates in DFP in order to enhance their competitive advertising offering to drive more sales.

The Problem:

As part of their line of ad product offerings for their network of sites, this publisher needed to update their interstitial templates in order to support a broader range of rich media experiences. Expandable and pushdown ad units had become standard on their competitors sites, and site skins were becoming a requirement from large advertisers.

The Solution:

By leveraging our ad tech partnerships, authoring custom code, and leaning on our in-house ad tech engineering experience, OAO was able to develop dynamic ad products that were easily deployable across multiple platforms and devices - all of which were served through the publisher’s DFP ad server.
